About our blog

This blog is the joint effort of Dr. Jay Adams and Donn Arms. Our purpose is to honor our Lord by seeking to encourage His people as they minister the Word of God both from the pulpit and in the counseling room or, in Paul’s words, “publicly and from house to house” (Acts 20:20).

This blog will serve primarily as a vehicle by which Dr. Adams can communicate with those who have come to appreciate his ministry over the past fifty years and are interested in enjoying the fruit of his current thinking and study. We won’t promise to post things on any specific timetable but we hope to post things with a degree of regularity. Plan to check in often to see what is new.

Please note that we have turned off comments. We do not intend for this to be a public forum for debate. We are glad, however, to hear your comments. If you would like to communicate with us directly by e-mail you may do so at feedback@nouthetic.org. I (Donn) promise to read every comment but I cannot commit to responding. I will NOT be responding to anonymous e-mail. If you only attach a name with no other information about who you are then it will be considered anonymous.

Dr. Adams will soon attain his four score years and while he is enjoying a degree of good health he is not able to travel far from the “Adams compound” in rural Spartanburg county in South Carolina. We are thankful that today’s technology enables him to continue to have a wide ministry.

The psalmist wrote:

The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age, they shall be full of sap and very green.

Psalm 92:12-14

I believe you will find, as you read Dr. Adams’ blog, that he is still ”full of sap and very green!”
